There's what seems like a half-billion applications for Linux that work on Ubuntu. And honestly, that's a lot to go through. So, I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite sources for Ubuntu applications. Enjoy, and feel free to add your favorites in the comments!

How to find fresh Ubuntu Applications Across the Web

Searching for Ubuntu applications can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. Because of that, I wanted to compile some sources for the best applications that currently exist. Most all of these applications are not exclusively Ubuntu applications, but will work for a variety of GNU/Linux operating systems and distributions.

Most of the following can be installed using the Synaptic Package Manager included with every Ubuntu installation, or from the command line. A few have to be compiled from source or extracted from a .deb file.
